The foreclosed home inventory in the MLS is running low at the moment. Many of the homes are so agressively priced that over 100 offers may be received before the listing agent stops the stampede. [See the recent article in the Orange County Register.]
There is speculation that banks are holding their inventory back to keep from flooding the market. Others think that the banks and their listing agents are just slow to act, and overwhelmed by the volume. I have been trying to keep my lists up-to-date on this blog, but the activity level is simply too high to do it manually any more. I have now automated the process by setting up RSS feeds for each city in the South Orange County area. These will be updated about 4 times per day, automatically, by the So Cal MLS.
